How do I find out about the productions
for which I have been submitted?
You will be sent an itemised daily report showing
all the roles and productions for which you have been
submitted.
How can I make sure that I am only submitted
for the type of work that I want to do?
You may specify exactly the kind of work that interests
you. If for example, you do not wish to be considered
for profit-share theatre or student films, do not put
a tick in those boxes on the application form. If you
are working and wish to temporarily suspend your subscription,
you may do so at no extra cost. Simply inform us when
you wish to stop and re-start your subscription. You only
pay for the service when you need it.
Do I have to have
Internet and E-mail facilities?
Because so much of the casting
information we supply is of an urgent nature we can only
offer this service to those with an email address.
Do I have to be an
Equity member to join CastNet?
We do require that all subscribers
are members of British Equity (or eligible for membership),
have completed an accredited British drama course and
have professional acting experience.
We are however happy to consider an application from someone
who has say, not received a formal training but has extensive
professional experience.
Does CastNet work
for everyone?
Our experience has shown a huge
variety in the results achieved by different subscribers.
Some actors will go several weeks with little response
while others are attending 10-15 castings every week.
Many factors will influence the success of your submissions
and we are happy to offer advice in this area.
How much does it
cost?
The cost of this service starts
from only £6.50 per week. We manage to keep our overheads
extremely low by using a unique database system to automate
as much of the administration as possible.
Most our subscribers have been recommended
to us. You will receive 2 week's free subscription for
every actor you recommend that becomes a subscriber.
Although you are under no obligation to
do so, if you manage to make only 5 successful recommendations
in a year you will save £65.00!
